Flint & Wax is run by David Rodgers, a hand-crafting candle maker in Oklahoma.
I've been making candles by hand for about six years. It started as a curiosity and turned into a craft: learning how a wax really behaves, why a wick that looks right still tunnels, and how much of a good candle is patience.
Most of what I know came from pouring, burning, and pouring again, and from writing down what worked and what didn't. Flint & Wax is where I put those notes, along with the calculators I wished I'd had when I started, so you can skip some of the trial and error.
The name comes from the craft itself. Flint is the spark, the hard and old way of making fire. Wax is the soft, warm glow that follows. Good candle making sits between the two.
